Discussion & Study Groups
Our seasonal discussion and study groups seek to make meaningful connections between the Christian faith and the many complex issues of our times.
Our Pastoral Partners aim to ensure all community members are well cared for. Particular attention is given to newcomers and those without established support networks.
Community Life is our annual program of social activities and events, which enable the community to informally enjoy one another’s company. The program caters to all ages and interests.
Groups from our church regularly gather in homes to share a meal. These groups are an ideal entry point for newcomers to our community.
Effective Living Centre
Our major community engagement is expressed through the Effective Living Centre, a community partnership organisation. The Effective Living Centre empowers people to engage with and contribute to life more effectively through a wide variety of courses, seminars and other events. These are open to people of any social, political or religious stance.
When: The Effective Living Centre offers programs and events regularly. Our Events Calendar page or task group pages below can show our planned events. The office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10.00am and 2.00pm.

Our Social Issues events and activities seek to raise awareness and propose ways forward to respond to matters of inequality, injustice and threats to life on the planet.
Our Positive Parenting courses and sessions are designed to support and encourage parents and caregivers to meet the challenges of childhood and the teenage years.
Progressive Christianity Network SA
Hosted by ELC, the Progressive Christianity Network of South Australia (PCNet SA) aims to bring together those who seek to explore and express a Christian faith relevant to the 21st century.
The annual Wilks Oration provides an opportunity for the community to hear from a prominent guest speaker on a current social concern. These events are held in honour of Graham Wilks, a founder of the ELC.
